Long before eHarmony and Match became household words, personal ads filled the back pages of newspapers across the nation. These ads offered a bit of entertainment for readers but must have presented a challenge to write. After all, how can you sum up your best qualities while also describing a dream partner in 40 words or less? Here at CFP, describing our dream students in a handful of words is impossible–there’s too much fabulousness to include. But we might be able to do it in 150. Hang on to your hats! First and foremost, CFP students are curious. They bring curiosity to the classroom when they actively participate in their learning. Invested in their own education, these kids want to ask questions–of their teachers, their peers, and themselves. Tackling new skills, gaining new knowledge, and wrestling with new ideas form the basis of the school experience, and CFP students are eager to engage in this kind of meaningful work. CFP kids also have high expectations of their school. They want to learn in an authentic, respectful environment. Students want to make the most of their time, and they crave instructors committed to the craft of teaching and dedicated to student success. Life is simply too short to sit idly in the back of a packed classroom. The students who walk through the doors of Clark Fork Prep next fall have one more endearing trait: these kids are bold. CFP teenagers value independence, and though perhaps nervous, they have the confidence to put uncertainty aside and say YES to joining a brand new education community! It takes guts to choose the unfamiliar, but they know the rewards are limitless. Folks ask us all the time to describe Clark Fork Prep, and our favorite version of this question is, “What kind of students will CFP serve?” Obviously, we can never do it in 40 words, but we just made a valiant attempt–and managed to do it in 187! If this sounds like teens you know, then it’s time to celebrate: there’s a school ready for them!
